Wednesday already? We’re just 37 days from the launch of the Xbox One, and with it Forza Motorsport 5 Showroom post has been updated with four showroom cars on display with an additional 20 cars added to the roster. We have 2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition, 1967 Lamborghini Miura P400, 2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series and the 2007 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione below, in their full wallpaper-sized glory.
We’ve also included a recently shared video from Microsoft’s Larry Hryb’s Q&A about the advancements in racing peripherals on the Xbox One platform. Though clearly a marketing spin, it’s nice to get to see the Thrustmaster Ferarri and Mad Catz wheels as well as some Forza 5. Thanks to our forum poster, CeeKay, for the link.

2012 Nissan GT-R Black Edition

1967 Lamborghini Miura P400

In an age when the only race-derived designs came from Ferrari, the Miura showed a new direction. The Miura was conceived and designed three of Lamborghini’s top engineers of the time. The result was a car whose form was revolutionary, and whose performance still thrills car lovers today. Forget the Sistine Chapel, this might be the highest form of Italian art.
2012 Mercedes-Benz C63 AMG Black Series
[singlepic id=16751 w=320 h=240 float=right] When the top-of-the-line Mercedes coupe is lacking performance, you get the AMG. If the AMG is not enough then you have the Black Series. All the AMG, plus the 6.2-liter V-8 with 510 horsepower motor from the SLS AMG supercar, as well as handling and aerodynamics to make it pliable. Providing outstanding stability for all that power is a wider track in both the front and rear. For Merc lovers, it simply does not get any better than this.
2007 Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione

You might be surprised that it wasn’t designed by one of the famous Italian coachbuilders — it was designed in-house at Alfa Romeo’s own design center. As with anything, pure looks alone only prevail in pictures and magazines, so the Competizione remains true to its heritage in performance as well. Under the shapely hood, you will find a 450 horsepower V8 designed in cooperation with Maserati. This supermodel is ready to run with the best of them.

Born and raised in Winnipeg, Canada, at a young age I was forced to decide whether the harsh northern winters were going to claim my fingers, or to turn to the safer pursuits of indoor activities. Little did I know that a little game called Ninja Gaiden would bring my digits more pain than frostbite ever could. Starting with Vectrex and C64 games and moving forward through the era of electronic entertainment, I sampled as much as I could in the different platforms, and began my interest in PC gaming from wrestling with DOS memory management.
While console games were a part of my earliest gaming memories and I certainly had played on most platforms including 3D0, all things Nintendo, PS1 and the like, truly the PC was my domain until the Xbox. As an old PC gamer, I ever chased the cutting edge technology. Eye of the beholder with CGA 4 colors was my first step down the the path of blowing thousands of dollars on PC upgrades over two decades. Ultima 7, with the Guardian talking to me through my monitor, still haunts my dreams and keeps me ever hoping for a decent Ultima 8 and 9. From the 3DFX SLI VooDoo2s and Aureal to today's GPU driven DirectX games, the new and shiny pictures seem to keep me going. My PC gaming has slowed down with the market shift though, and although I have choice games that will ever be on PC, I have found myself in console gaming with a bit of portable gaming in my life.
Back around the turn of the millenium (and long before fatherhood), I had fired off an email offering to help Ron with a little-known site called ConsoleGold. Little did I know it would be be a part of my life to this day. While I've seen my fair share of shovelware (thanks Ron!), I manage to try and find the fun in most games. Leaning towards sandbox and action titles, I've grown to love games for their potential to reach art. Console agnostic and excited for the progress of tomorrow, I fancy the latest and greatest, but still enjoy the good old classics ... as long as they've been revamped from their 8bit graphic roots.
