Digital Extremes, an indie developer turned publisher, will be releasing their free-to-play (previously) PC exclusive Warframe will be available for the PS4 on day one. Along with the launch day announcement, Digital Extremes also promised free content for the future that “will continue to broaden the scope and depth of the game over time.” Warframe had some pretty positive buzz around it when it was released for the PC, so it’s nice to see it coming to these shiny new next-gen consoles. Not to mention the fact that finding a game to actually play on these consoles is almost as hard as working up the money to purchase them.

“Warframe offers an incredibly rich gaming experience for the low, low price of Free,” said Steve Sinclair, creative director at Digital Extremes.  “It’s a win-win situation for everyone.  The Free-to-Play model allows independent developers like us the opportunity to take risks on new ideas that otherwise would never see the light of day in a traditional retail scenario; and the low price-point barrier for gamers gives them the opportunity to experience the game, provide us feedback and then choose to support the game and its continued development.”

Digital Extremes also released a trailer which dives further into the lore of Warframe. This trailer can be found above. You can download Warframe for FREE when the Playstation 4 launches in just one day, on November 15th.
