New trailer for The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt reveals incredible music and gameplay

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt won several awards from us at E3 2013, and is EASILY one of my personal most-anticipated titles of this year.   The team at CD Projekt RED are masterful in their storytelling, and their ability to make moral decisions matter in games is the kind of thing that keeps me coming back time and time again.   Well, today we’ve got an incredible new trailer that shows off some brand new in-game footage, but also gives us a listen into the incredible score that will drive the game.   Here’s a bit from the team themselves:

Portraying the vast and beautiful open world that plays host to the game’s riveting story, The Witcher 3 VGX Gameplay Trailer offers an extended look at the adventure to come. See it here or download the HD version here.

“The Witcher 3 is constantly growing and we’re very excited each time we show something new to gamers. The VGX Gameplay Trailer shows some really great stuff that you’ll find in the game and we’re very eager to hear what people think about it, so please leave a comment after you watch it – we’re always listening to what you have to say,” said Konrad Tomaszkiewicz, Game Director, CD Projekt RED.

CDP RED studio is also excited to provide a glimpse into some of the new music direction for this 3rd and final installment in the Witcher series with the VGX Gameplay Trailer. Portions of the music in the game will focus on the raw emotion of traditional slavic instruments and songs to convey the brutality and violence of the world. To achieve this goal the audio team has been recording using traditional and historic instruments with amazing bands like “Percival”, who are masters in this area, to achieve a truly authentic and powerful sound.

The team estimates this game to have literally hundreds of hours of gameplay, and from the depth and breadth of the game game I’ve seen, that might be a conservative estimate.  This game is one of the primary reasons to either buy a new console or significantly upgrade your PC.   We don’t have a release date yet, so you still have time….start saving now.
