New Destiny gameplay shows off Devils’ Lair Strike

Information on Destiny has been a little bit light, though their E3 demo from last year was pretty much brain-meltingly awesome. Today Activision and Bungie announced that they’ll be teaming up with GameStop to release a special pre-order bonus vehicle, but it also gives us a quick look at a level called “Devils’ Lair Strike”.

Before we get into the details on the level, let’s quickly talk about that GameStop pre-order. The vehicle is called the Red Sparrow and features an upgraded boost, faster speed, and higher durabilty than the standard Sparrow.

If you’ve missed the bus on this new community-based shooter (calling it an MMO isn’t right, and it’s not your straight-up shooter model either), here’s a nibble:

Players are cast as Guardians of the last city on Earth, who will traverse the ancient ruins of our solar system, from the red dunes of Mars to the lush jungles of Venus. Able to wield incredible power, gamers must battle humanity’s enemies and reclaim all that was lost during the collapse of mankind’s Golden Age. In a story-driven universe, Destiny’s saga unfolds through grand tales and epic adventures by immersing players in a bold new universe filled with cooperative, competitive, public, and social activities, all seamlessly connected.

The game is heading our way on September 9th on Xbox One, Xbox 360, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PC. Look for more info as we march headlong into E3 preview season!
