Homeworld Remastered gets a 4K cinematic trailer

Did you know that Homeworld Remastered can go to 5K resolution?  You read that right, 5120×2880.  Today we have a new cinematic trailer that shows off the game in 4K resolution, and it is absolutely gorgeous.  If you never got to play Homeworld, let me bring you up to speed on my perspective.

Homeworld was built by Relic Entertainment and launched on September 28th, 1999.  It was the first fully 3D RTS game, and is widely considered one of the best strategy games of all time.   It changed the game by giving players attack angles that spark the imagination.  Only in Sci Fi movies do ships approach each other right side up and at the same angle.  In Homeworld and its sequel, ships can (and will) attack from all angles, utilizing the entire 360 degree bubble.  If you think you know RTS, this is something completely new.

Homeworld Remastered brings those two products together, but Gearbox has done a hell of a lot more than put a new coat of paint on it.  But don’t take my word for it, check out the video above to see for yourself!

Homeworld Remastered will release on February 25th on Steam for $34.99, but if you pre-order you can pick it up for 15% off!
