High-rez MGSV: The Phantom Pain E3 Theater Demo

One of the coolest things about going to E3 is the closed-door demos that show off some of the most popular games coming our way.  This year, one of those demos was Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain.  This 30 minute theater demo shows off the incredible visuals, open world gameplay, and even some in-box bits of fun.  If you’ve not been following MGSV: The Phantom Pain, here’s a bit about the upcoming next-gen title – MINOR SPOILERS AHOY!:

In the aftermath of the events of Ground Zeroes and the destruction of Militaires Sans Frontières, Big Boss falls into a coma.  Nine years later, he awakes and forms a new mercenary group, the Diamond Dogs. Now under the guise of the codename “Venom Snake”, he ventures into Afghanistan during the Soviet war to track down the men responsible for MSF’s destruction. Along the way, he becomes reacquainted with his former rival Ocelot and encounters a unit of warriors robbed of their past, present and future. While he and Kazuhira “Kaz” Miller are initially driven to exact revenge, Snake soon unearths a plot by the Cipher organization to develop a weapon with the potential to surpass even the Metal Gear system, and his mission quickly switches focus to ending the threat.

The video made me pre-order this game.  I guess that’s about as much of a ringing endorsement as I can give for a title.

Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain is slated for release on XBox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360, and PlayStation 3 with a rumored release date of early 2015.
