Super Smash Bros. for 3DS Sells 1 Million Copies in a Weekend

Super Smash Bros. for 3DS is out in Japan now, and it’s already sold a million copies in its first weekend.

While Nintendo has shipped 1 million units to Japanese retailers, the sold figure accounts for both the game’s digital and physical copies sold.

The release of the Japanese version of the game confirmed almost all of the characters that were leaked ahead of release, revealing the entirety of the game’s roster a week before the game finally came out.

The Wii U version of the latest Smash Bros. is still coming later this year, and we might have some idea as to when that will ultimately come out. The 3DS version will be coming stateside on October 3rd.

For more on both versions, check out our preview from this year’s E3.
