Starseed Pilgrim now available on Steam

There’s a brand new puzzle game available on Steam today. Do you like puzzle games? Alright – let’s say you do. Well, do you like rather minimalist, abstract graphics with your puzzle games? Do you get excited when the lack of instructions of how to play the game is presented not as a criticism in a review, but as a feature in the advertisements for the game? Finally, do you think this is a good sales pitch: You are a gardener, tending to empty noise and empty space to fill them both with colour. You are a refugee, building your own world away from the spreading darkness. You are an explorer, discovering new places, new rules, and new fascinations. The universe is bigger than you know. If you answered ‘yes’ to all of these questions, well – be sure to check out the Steam store page for Starseed Pilgrim!

I’ve got my eye on this one. To be dead honest, I find the presentation a little pretentious – partly because I’m all Serious Business when it comes to my gaming choices, and I’d rather read about features than deal with airy claims about becoming a gardener-refugee-explorer growing color in a vacuum. On the other hand, sometimes this kind of artistic spin has a truly unique experience and fun gameplay mechanic behind it – and clearly it was good enough to land itself on Steam, so odds are there’s at least something to it. If I get a chance to check it out, I’ll be sure to report my experiences here.
