Splatoon content updates will end in January

Nogami and Sakaguchi, Splatoon’s director and producer, confirmed that the last batch of content updates for the game will be in January 2016.

This will be the final update that adds gear, weapons, rules, or stages. When asked why they made this choice, they said they don’t want to make it hard on players to memorize everything. There are already 14 stages and over 70 weapons available.

However, they still plan to balance weapons in the future if needed, and events such as Splatfests will still be held.
