Playdek Releases Ascension: Return of the Fallen

Not long ago I posted about Ticket to Ride Pocket on the iOS.  Over a year ago Small World was released for the iPad.  Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer has come out for the iOS earlier, and now the expansion, Return of the Fallen, has just been released.

Playdek, a leading mobile video game publisher, announced today the release of its highly-anticipated follow up game Ascension: Return of the Fallen, an expansion pack to the award-winning Ascension: Chronicle of the Godslayer, featuring new heroes, monsters and mechanics to engage players. Originally designed by card game creator Gary Games, Return of the Fallen allows stand-alone play or play in combination with the first hit Ascension game.  Designed as a universal iOS application,Ascension: Return of the Fallen is available for download as an In-App purchase from the Apple Store.

It seems like more and more board games are being released, and if you have already purchased Ascension, then the add-on is a no-brainer.  If you haven’t gotten it yet and like other deck-building games like Thunderstone and Dominion, then be sure to check out the original.  It’s well worth the money.

While his love of video games started with the Telestar Alpha (a pong console with four different games), he trule started playing video games when he received the ill-fated TI-99/4A. While the Speech Synthesizer seemed to be the height of gaming, eventually a 286 AT computer running at 8/12 Hz and a CGA monitor would be his outlet for a while. Eventually he’d graduate to 386, 486, Pentium, and Athlon systems, building some of those systems while doing some hardware reviews and attending Comdex. With the release of the Dreamcast that started his conversion to the console world. Since then he has acquired an NES, SNES, PS2, PS3, PSP, GBA-SP, DS, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One S, Gamecube, Wii, Switch, and Oculus Quest 2. While not playing video games he enjoys bowling, reading, playing board games, listening to music, and watching movies and TV.
