PlanetSide 2 enters closed beta in the States, expanding in the future

The free-to-play MMO PlanetSide 2 has entered its anticipated closed beta starting today, January 20th.

Clint Worley, Executive Producer of PlanetSide 2 elaborated a bit further on what his team hopes to achieve during this Beta by saying “The Closed Beta allows us to gain invaluable player feedback, ensuring a heart-pounding, action-packed massive experience at launch.”

He went on to state that PlanetSide 2 is “defined by its massive size and camaraderie” which makes it a perfect fit for the Playstation 4 due to the consoles hardware and social community.

As of right now, PlanetSide 2’s closed beta is only available in the United States of America, but Sony Online Entertainment promises that the Beta will expand to further countries and territories in the future.

You can still sign up for the closed beta here, and expect PlanetSide 2 to have a full release sometime “later this year.”
