Today’s new sizzle trailer for Persona 4 Arena boasts it will feature an “All New Persona 4 Story!” We’ll see. The first and only fighting game story I’ve cared about was a major feature in Netherealms’ excellent Mortal Kombat reboot, and that had years of previous lore it could condense into a time-hopping tale of interdimensional warriors beating each other to death. Modern Persona games lavish their characters and plot lines with far more attention, as you’d expect from an RPG series, so there’s a much higher bar to cross to meet fan expectations.
Artistically, though, Arc System Works has really nailed it. Trailer ahoy!
