If the letter X is in the title of the game then you can probably expect some kind of crazy crossover action. The theory holds up true with the upcoming strategy RPG Project Zone X which features characters from numerous Namco, Sega, and Capcom franchises.
What is the cause of this mingling of universes? The story goes that an ancient artifact called the “Portalstone” and has caused a rift to open which inevitably forces various heroes to cross paths and, of course, do battle.
