Mega Rayquaza Confirmed for Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire Remakes

A new Mega Evolution has been revealed for Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, and this time it’s for a legendary Pokemon.

Nintendo has announced that Rayquaza, the mascot of Pokemon Emerald, will be able to change its form in the upcoming remakes through Mega Evolution. Mega evolving will grant Rayquaza a new weather-based ability called Delta Stream and a new offensive move called Dragon Ascent.

Rayquaza is the latest in a long line of recently confirmed Mega Evolutions, with Sharpedo, Camerupt and Gallade being the latest. A few months back, Nintendo filed a trademark for Pokemon Delta Emerald, implying a remake with Rayquaza as a mascot could be in the works.

Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are coming to 3DS on November 21st.
