Gears of War 4 August Update Now Live

Gears of War 4 has received new content for its August update. This update includes two new maps, special bonuses for the month of August, and new events.

First of the maps is Forge Blitz, a tighter version of the map Forge focused on faster paced action with potential for a wider combat experience. The match takes place in an old, sand-swept factory in the grueling desert.

Next are the Canals, returning from the first and second Gears of War bringing back its classic combat on a triple bridge over a canal. Canals promises to bring you the feeling of classic Gears of War.

In addition to the maps, the month of August will see an increase in the First Win of the Day Credit Bonus. Instead of 100 credits, each win of the day is worth 500. The second season of the Gears Pro Circuit will also be coming soon.

For events, August’s Craftable Character is Classic Commando Doom. On August 18th, there will be a new Horden variant, with August 25th bringing a Classic One Shot One Kill on Canals event. The previous Horden variant, “Anything Goes,” is now available whenever you’d like through a private match.
