Bioware recently announced that it would be delaying the Dragon Age Keep alongside delaying Dragon Age: Inquisition. The Keep is a questionnaire that players fill out in order to import their world state from previous Dragon Age games into Inquisition, and Bioware seems to be considering using a similar system for its future games.
Speaking to Joystiq, Bioware’s Cameron Lee said that the Keep will likely be utilized in future Dragon Age titles and perhaps equivalent systems in other games.
“I think future BioWare games would do it,” Lee said. “Yeah, absolutely. It depends if that would work for them, in terms of if it suits that game. If we did other Dragon Age games I’m sure we’d use it. I’m not sure that a Mass Effect is going to use it or not.
“We’ve got all the back-end technology for the studio. It’s actually been a central studio team that’s been working on the fundamental tech for this. Then the Dragon Age team supports it.”
Lee claims that the Keep will have “hundreds” of questions for players to answer, and that the team has algorithms in place to ensure that no contradictory choices are picked so the Keep can’t break Inquisition’s story when it’s used.
The Dragon Age Keep will launch sometime before Dragon Age: Inquisition comes to PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 on November 18th.
