Double Dose of Cream Puff: Kirby: Battle Royale revealed, Star Allies detailed

Kirby will be receiving a new 3DS title this January. Alluded to in the May Nintendo Direct and on Miiverse, we knew that an “action fighting” Kirby game was coming, but we weren’t sure what to expect. Today, Kirby: Battle Royale was officially revealed, which appears to be a 3D arena brawler for you and up to 3 friends.

Kirby: Battle Royale will be swinging hard with 10 modes, including both single-player and multiplayer modes, where you choose different abilities to win over your opponents. To celebrate Kirby’s 25th anniversary, Nintendo is holding a poll for fans to vote for their favorite copy ability on the official website. The winning ability could appear in the game. Kirby: Battle Royale will be released on Nintendo 3DS on January 19th, 2018.

In addition to the Kirby: Battle Royale announcement, Nintendo gave us more details on Kirby Switch as well as its official title: Kirby Star Allies. This game is a traditional side-scrolling Kirby game where you and up to three friends work together using various copy abilities. In the Nintendo Direct presentation, new abilities were shown to be returning such as Yo-Yo from Kirby Superstar. Most of the copy abilities can be imbued with elements with the help of your partners.

Kirby Star Allies will be released on Nintendo Switch in Spring of 2018. For more information, visit the official website.
