DICE Gives Free PC Download Of Battlefield 1942

A year ago, a new and fantastic looking game was thrown out into mobs of gamers, and to which the gamers then played/still play the forever inducing Battlefield 3. Sold copies and Premium memberships bought apparently over-filled DICE’s and Electronic Art’s pockets, because they’re presenting everyone a free PC download of Battlefield 1942.

Thank you Battlefield fans! DICE, an Electronic Arts Inc. (NASDAQ: EA) studio, today announced fans can download a free* PC copy of Battlefield 1942™ exclusively on www.Origin.com/demos, in celebration of the ten year anniversary of the Battlefield series and Battlefield 3™ Premium surpassing 2 million members worldwide since its debut in June. A companion to the award-winning Battlefield 3 and the free Battlelog™ social network, Battlefield 3 Premiumdelivers new game changing content with five themed digital expansion packs that introduce a massive amount of gameplay including 20 new maps, new weapons and vehicles, four new game modes and more for a one-time fee of $49.99. With over 5.2 million active Battlefield 3 players a month, fans are actively looking for new original content to extend the life of the game and they’re finding it in Battlefield 3 Premium.

“When we launched Battlefield 1942 ten years ago, we had lofty ambitions to create a first-person shooter that would push the boundaries of innovation, creativity and design. We evolved the FPS gameplay formula by introducing the world to all-out warfare via land, air and sea,” said Karl Magnus Troedsson, Vice President and General Manager of DICE. “Since the beginning, the reception to the Battlefield series has been incredible thanks to our amazing fans. Every day, we strive to provide our community with great games and new ways to play as evident with Battlefield 3 Premium. We wanted to thank our fans who have supported us throughout the years by restoring Battlefield 1942 for a digital re-release and give everyone a chance to play the game that started it all.”

Pretty cool of EA and DICE to throw us a bone like this.   If you want to find Ron, he’ll be online, flying planes in between factory smoke stacks on El Alamein.

As you might have guessed, Jacob Czarnecki is a person who is very enthusiastic about video games. He has been an avid gamer since he was in the first or second grade, and his first console was a PlayStation, which ended up frying in an outlet and bellowing smoke. That later created a reason to get a PlayStation 2, which introduced him to FPS games (Star Wars Battlefront being his first). Growing up, Jacob's family lived in multiple countries because his father was in the military. He lived in Germany, South Korea, North Carolina, Arizona, and has traveled so much that he once uttered, "Do we HAVE to go to Venice again?". He is now located is in his place of birth: Arizona. Jacob has multiple wants in his life: to make it into an elite branch of the military, to reach an enlightened state of mind, and to serve a purpose that benefits others and not just himself. That doesn't mean that he isn't a fan of fun. Jacob likes to shred on his electric guitar when he can, likes to go on hikes but he likes camping even more, and absolutely loves handling firearms at the shooting range. He is one of the biggest Star Wars and Halo fans that you will find and just loves everybody (unless you give him a very good reason not to). Was it mentioned that Heavy Metal is this guy's favorite music genre? If not, it just was. Jacob has no idea what he wants to study in College, but he knows for certain that he's going. He still has to reach the pinnacle of his life, and he'll do anything he can to make it there in the best way possible.
