343 Industries has announced plans to launch a PC-exclusive Halo game in Russia called Halo Online.

According to a Q&A posted the Halo Waypoint, Halo Online, a “highly modified” version of Halo 3’s multiplayer will launch exclusively in Russia this spring. The game will not feature Halo 3’s campaign mode, but will be optimized for smooth performance for even lower-end PCs.

Halo Online will launch as a closed beta, but 343 confirms that it has no plans to bring the multiplayer-only game to Xbox One, as it was “built from the ground up specifically for the PC.” Regarding the game’s launch in other territories, 343 states that it is currently focusing on the Russian version, and that “any expansion outside of Russia would have to go through region-specific changes to address player expectations.”
