Welcome to our live blog coverage of Nintendo’s non event E3 2017 event
This could be Nintendo’s year to really shine. The Switch is turning out to be a hit, even with the dearth of games available for it- Nintendo can change all that today. Here’s hoping for tons of announcements of Switch games, in addition to more news about the new Mario game, which we know will get the spotlight. Meanwhile, the 3DS is still going strong and we’ll likely get a few new surprises there. All that said, the one thing we can definitively say about Nintendo is that they always surprise us!
Thanks for joining us today! I’m Mike Dunn, Executive Producer & Editor-at-Large. Our away team will not be joining us live from the event, because they will be waiting in line to get on to the show floor. The event starts at 9 AM PDT, but lets get some quick introductions of who’s posting before we start talking predictions:

Noah McGuire 7:52 AM
Hi, my name’s Noah McGuire, and I can’t tell you how excited to see what Nintendo brings to the table today!

< /div>

Noah McGuire 7:52 AM
Hopefully we’ll see some big surprises

< /div>

Elisha Deogracias 7:58 AM
Hey, I’m Elisha Deogracias, and fun fact, I have five different R.O.B. amiibos (One of them is a custom and the other four are unopened).
As you can see, I’m in this for the amiibos haha.

Noah McGuire 8:00 AM
Maybe we’ll finally get our last 3 smash amiibo!
…hopefully…

Elisha Deogracias 8:04 AM
Okay, so it’s cool that every main E3 presentation aside from Sony had referenced the Switch, so I’m excited for this.

A Kay Purcell 8:04 AM
Hi everyone, I’m Kay Purcell, GT editor, and I just want more Switch games T^T

< /div>

Elisha Deogracias 8:07 AM
Are there any nintendo games on the floor right now, Kay?

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:08 AM
The floor does not open for another few hours

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:08 AM
I will get to demo Battle Chasers today, which is coming to the Switch, and that’s probably going to be the highlight of my day!

< /div>

Noah McGuire 8:09 AM
Do you know if they’re supposed to have games on the floor? I know last year they had the Breath of the Wild demo.

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:10 AM
I’m expecting the Pokken Tournament to be on the floor

< /div>

Noah McGuire 8:10 AM
It’s always such an odd situation with Nintendo, since they don’t actually present anymore

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:10 AM
I’m hoping that Mario will have a hands on, but I’m not sure!

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:12 AM
I’m still disappointed that Pokémon Ultra Sun/Moon are for the 3DS, not the Switch, but I’m still hoping that I might get to see them at the show!

< /div>

Noah McGuire 8:12 AM
I’m still disappointed with Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon

< /div>

Noah McGuire 8:12 AM
Period

< /div>

Sean Anthony 8:12 AM
Oh there’s no doubt in my mind that Mario will be playable. That’s Nintendo’s big game this year.

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:12 AM
hahaha

< /div>

Noah McGuire 8:13 AM
Stealing my Diamond and Pearl remake money like that

< /div>

Sean Anthony 8:13 AM
By the way, hi, I’m Sean Anthony, also known as extremely excited for this.

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:13 AM
My Pokémon obsession runs deep. Any RPG ‘mon game they put out, I will play

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:13 AM
my living Pokédex needs more monsters!

< /div>

Elisha Deogracias 8:14 AM
Kay, you’ve experienced Ever Oasis previously, and that game is coming out soon. Is it something we should be excited for?

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:14 AM
I’m really enjoying it, more than I expected!

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:14 AM
It’s a little bit Animal Crossing, a little bit Zelda battles and puzzles

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:14 AM
plus a little bit of a shop keeping mechanic. It moves pretty fast, and there’s always lots to do, no going to bed early just to push the day forward.

< /div>

A Kay Purcell 8:15 AM
It’s been a great little game to have on hand while waiting in line… and trust me, waiting in line is most of what happens at E3!
