I never said it was a replacement - it's more of a hearkening back to Frequency and Amplitude, as I said in the review. It's a new (sorta) way to play.

But it's not a "stripped down" version of Rock Band. The only thing it shares from Rock Band is that it uses your DLC and you are hitting notes. Everything else is an entirely new game that blends aspects of their old games Frequency/Amplitude with games like Rockband Unplugged for the PSP. Rock Band is about simulating the act of rocking out, this is about arcade-style scoring and power-ups.

Just my 2 cents, I am digging the hell out of this and I am a very rabid Rock Band 3 player with over 1000 DLC tracks.

I'm sorry to say but I gotta disagree with your score. This review comes off as pretty biased. But from what I've read from other sites and seen on videos, it looks like this game is just a stripped down version of the actual game(Rock Band 3) that doesn't allow you to play with your actual instrument controllers and also is absent of multi-player. The DLC alone makes the game worth the purchase, but all I see this is just an excuse to go back to some of your older DLC you have purchased before and play it with in a different way. The new scoring functions and power-ups I'm sure are fun but I can't see this ever replacing RB3 as my music game of choice.
