Good review though I would have given a bit lower score myself based on
current play through level (not anywhere near done yet). Content wise, I
think it would have been helpful to call out the disparity between the
main story quests and the side mission quests. They are literally night
in day with regards to direction and enjoyment level. I was trudging
along (and yes, I used the word 'trudge') and had done roughly 100 or so
completed quests when I realized how far I'd outstripped the main story
line from a location perspective. The game had become a task oriented
grind & bore, but it's really the main storyline where the game
shines.

Unfortunately R.A Salvatore's writing style is very much on display in
the game which in some ways is good (general dialog flow) and in others
bad (little character development, lots of action, and in some
instances, utterly meaningless dribble that leave you wondering why you
had to waste time reading/hearing it). Anyhow, R.A. Salvatore writing
was definitely unbalanced but as expected.

One thing that frustrates me with the game has been the camera and the
fact that it seems to focus on the ground quite often, whether it's the
camera moving or that I'm constantly clicking the ground over dead
monsters. Either way the game is far more beutfiul with an upwards view
that shows the environment as opposed to the pure green or brown of the
ground. In order to achieve this however you have to constantly move
the camera. Having it shift a little when you ran would have been a
great way open up the world a bit for gamers.

One final note on the review, nothing on Todd Mcfarlane's involvement? Unforgivable. ;)

Yes, but a home run can just barely go over the infield fence. If it is hit out of the park, the ball gets smashed. I also thought that a baseball metaphor would be appropriate because of Curt Schilling's involvement.

I in total agreement. So surprised at how much I like this game. I'm a die-hard Skyrim player, and although this game is in no way Skyrim, I don't think it tries to be. Its a great RPG that has gone in a different enough direction from Skyrim to make it stand on its own merits.
I too would rate this game, 9 out of 10.
