I think these are pretty cheap right? The old computer I was given has 2 cd drives but they both are barely working..when they actually do work. Id like to get a thumb drive to transfer some files to it. Its not connected to the web so i need to download files on my good computer then move them to the old one. I tried burning a cd of stuff but anything bigger than like 2 megs just will not work. It wont copy / paste them nor will it install from the cd. So im thinking a thumb drive will work.

Any drug store (ie walgreens, cvs) or even Wal-mart will have a 4gig thumb drive in the $10 range or so. 2 gig will be cheaper. Any electronics store will be the same.

Get more than a 2 gig.  USB drives are super cheap.  You should be able to get a 4 gig for only about $15 and 8 gig's for $20 or $25.
