The New Trading Feedback System

The New Trading Feedback System is now Active!  


The new feedback system allows you to directly give feedback to the trader/buyer/seller by submitting their rating using their profile.  This new system mainly keeps track of the scores with little interaction with forum moderators.  

You will notice on your profile that at the bottom of the page, you will see a section called SMF Trader System.  Under that there's a click-able number.  That number is how many feedback scores you have under name.  Your first feedback should show up as +1, click on that and view the trade details.  Your first entry will have the number of positive and negative trades from the past.    I have inputted all of the trading feedback scores from the past (see this thread  http://www.gamingtrend.com/forums/index.php?topic=32204.0 ).  We are working on having this fixed so that it will show the correct amount under the link on your profile.  For now, this is what we got.


To leave feedback to a member, click on the user's profile, and towards the bottom of the page hit submit feedback.  You will be asked to list whether you are a Buyer/Seller or Trader.  Then list your experience Positive/Neutral/Negative.  Then make a short comment regarding the trade.  You also have the option to link to the URL (you could link to the actual thread the person listed his or her item) and leave a longer detailed comment.  I believe only the short comment is required, and the rest is optional.

All trades will need approval from a Moderator. this is done to prevent any abuse of the system.  Once approved you will receive a notification regarding your ratings.

If you click on the +1 you'll see your actual +46 positive trades.  To migrate that over and make it +46 we'd have to submit 46 individual feedbacks with 46 emails to you.   Obviously this isn't feasible when you look at the number of trades we've had over the years....

I not involved with the forum software, but from what I've been told, this may be a possibility now, we got a hold of the author of the SMF Trader mod.

I'm not seeing that.  Have you tried clearing out your cache?

Just tried it and it didn't make any difference, every profile I checked showed a red x for the icon.  

IE8, btw, if that matters... and broken for me in Chrome as well. And at work on my laptop w/ IE6.

Oopsie!  Time will tell if missing part of the instructions allows the feedback through regardless.  The bolded parts, above, are the sections I remembered to look for, and actually filled in.  The rest... mmm, no - didn't notice, didn't fill in...

I had the same confusion, all of your initial trades were brought over in the first comment. So, click on the (+1) in your profile and it will show you at +19, from what I just saw. Everything after this will track in the external number.

I read your earlier post, but it still doesn't work for me, it just takes me to another page showing 1. Maybe its me browser, it can't see a lot of images flash types as well (Latest Mozilla).

No problem. I probably skimmed the top post when I first got confused, but to me it would help to emphasize the fact that your initial counts from the old system will only show in the first comment with a +1 on your actual profile - and that your counts will increment 'properly' going forward from +1 when people use the new feedback system.

Did anything ever come of this?  It would be nice to see everyone's total feedback at a glance.  It's probably just my ego whining.  It's kind of like having your gamerscore reset so it looks like you don't have any achievements, but if you go to profile, feedback comments you find the old gamerscore listed.  Not at all urgent, but it would be a nice fix.

I agree.  Part of the reason my last trade went sour is because I looked at the other party's rating in their profile and saw a +4.  I would have had no issues at all sending our games at the same time had I seen his +28.  It's my fault for not checking and I can't blame it on anything else, but it would have helped to see his accurate trader rating in his profile.

Yes they do.  I think back when CG/GT started you had to request it.

I'll go ahead and add it in.  It's going to show up as +1 but if you click on that, the details will say +66

Is there anyway to get my feedback rating from OO? I thought it was once on GT as well. Guess it was removed due to inactivity.
Mostly a lurker but +31 is a good trade record when and if I do trade.
