I asked for this for my birthday - the problem with boutique keyboards is that they're practically impossible to test-drive.  It's a great keyboard, just not what I'm looking for. Cherry Brown MX mechanical switch, two USB 2.0 ports, "silent" (quieter than a clicky keyboard, but still louder than your typical MS/Logitech model)

I might be interested...been looking into upgrading my old keyboard (an almost 10-year old Logitech that's full of buttons that aren't supported by Win7) recently and did come across the Das Keyboard as a very highly recommended option.  If you don't mind my asking, what is it that you didn't like after giving it a try?

I am looking for a very specific feel based on a keyboard I used many years ago - thought the Das Keyboard might be it, but it wasn't.  I'm looking to sell this one in order to purchase a Matias Tactile Pro, which uses a different style of switch.
