Help me buy Supreme Commander?

Amazon has a deal on Supreme Commander: Forged Alliance for $3.75.  Some people have suggested that you can register it with Steam and get the original SC with it.  I would be happy to be a guinea pig if someone would help me out with buying it in the first place as I don't live in the land of the great deals for everyone.  I can recompense you with Paypal of course if you send me a serial number to try out on Steam.  And of course if it doesn't work you can just keep the game!

I'd help you out as before, but... I'm not in Amazon-great-deals territory. Amazon.ca is a barren wasteland of deals compared to the US site.

I did this a little while ago.  The key does activate on steam for both games.  Let me know if you still need help.  I think Amazon will let me buy another key.
