If you want my input, it's really up to the users about which forum(s) they want to have this at.
I agree. That's why I posted my dilemma and am soliciting feedback.
I don't think the administration/mods from any of the forums currently housing former GG members have any power over dictating what forum gets what in these types of cases, even if the originator of the idea is in an administration/mod position at any of the forums.
I also agree. Before I posted the above, I communicated my dilemma with setaside and he
encouraged ConsoleGold to maintain its PIFF forum. There was no one dictating what forum gets what. This is purely my concern here. The hesitation about continuing it here partly comes from my misunderstanding what his intentions were (whether he was even interested in restarting a PIFF) and partly from logistical problems involved in tracking multiple lists between two sites.
And I'm sure people will frequent and use both PIFF options. Why not? It allows people to draw from a bigger pool of freebies. How do we keep track of karma in that case? How do we ensure that people are not offering the same freebies in two threads and counting karma in both? If someone claims a dual-listed item in one thread, how will I know it in the other? If we ban dual-listing of freebies, how do we track/enforce it? This system is based on trust and communication and I think two PIFF options across two forums with many of the same community members could easily lead to people being taken advantage of.
As I said these are my thoughts. No one has requested that we close down the PIFF here - I'm just wondering how to make it work and I'm coming up short on brain cells.
