Thought it would be good to post what we have bought and what we have our eyes on so people don't miss some hidden deals. There is a thread on the Steam forums for "Hidden Gems" that is worth looking at because there is a lot on sale for cheap that probably won't hit a daily deal.

http://forums.steampowered.com/forums/showthread.php?t=2799277

So far I've picked up:
Portal II (daily sale)
Mafia II (flash sale)
Hoard (flash sale)
Tomb Raider Legend/Anniversary/Underworld (flash sale)
Sonic Generations (daily sale)
Binding of Isaac (daily sale)
Alan Wake's American Nightmare  (flash sale)
Ys Origin (flash sale)
Dead Island (daily sale)
Vessel (flash sale)
PoP: Warrior Within/Two Thrones/Forgotten Sands (flash sale)
Metro 2033 (daily deal)
Chantelise (daily deal)
Driver: San Francisco (daily deal)
Far Cry 2 (flash deal? can't remember)
Vampire the Masquerade (flash deal?)
Garshasp the Monster Slayer
Ys: The Oath in Felghana
Bard's Tale
Saint's Row The Third Season Pass (flash deal)

Total damage: $107.13

Things I have my eye on:
Alan Wake's American Nightmare
Ys Origin/Ys Oath in Felghana
Munch's Oddysee/Stranger's Wrath

For me:

Total War Shogun 2 - Fall of the Samurai
Tribes: Ascend - Steam Starter Pack
Toy Soldiers
Frozen Synapse: The Complete Collection
Renagade Ops + DLC
Batman Arkham City: Harley Quinn's Revenge
Prince of Persia Complete Pack
Age of Empires III Complete Pack
Orcs Must Die 2 (pre-purchase)
Binding of Isaac Complete (apparently don't want to buy this with the DLC which makes everything insanely difficult with no way to go back to the easier difficulty)
Insanely Twisted Shadow Planet
Rayman Origins
Evochron Mercenery
Wizorb
Genforge Saga
Pixel Junk Eden + Soundtrack
Hard Reset: Extended Edition

Gifted:

Legend of Grimrock
Monkey Island Pack
Amnesia
Yesterday
Need for Speed: Hot Persuit
Fallout 3: GOTY

Purchase Regrets:

Age of Empires III Complete Pack - does not look as good as I remember. Uninstalled.

Think that's it for me. Purchased more than I thought I would but I think only two items were $15 and the rest well below that. Also got to gift a bunch of cheap games to a new PC gamer to try out.

Never said I'd get the chance to play it. smile  LOL

I'm sooo trying not to jump in on DCS: A-10C, could be the most expensive $16 game ever.  I'm salivating for a Thrustmaster HOTAS Warthog setup, TrackIR V, Saitek Pro Combat rudder pedals and to make it even more insane have you seen Helios software combined with a touch screen monitor (none of which I have)?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v15E1JZe9es&feature=channel&list=UL

So

HOTAS        $454.35
Rudders      $179.99
TrackIR       $149.99
Touchscreen approx $250
and A-10 on "sale" $16.00

Over $1050 for all that stuff, I think I'll hold of a bit longer, I'll jump when A-10 drops to $8 to maximize savings  icon_biggrin

trying hard to just get stuff off my wishlist, but indie games kept cropping up

trine 2 (enjoyed #1)
vessel
dynamite jack
hard reset: extended edition (need more scifi fps after playing deus ex human rev and now playing syndicate)
warp
lone surviver
two worlds 2 velvet edition (enjoyed #1 and pirate exp might sooth the risen 2 desired until its cheap)
dead island

will probably cave and get walking dead but might resist until christmas sale. skyrim was tempting at 50% but have so many rpgs to still play, including oblivion exp (only finished main game..same as also still installed morrowind).

caved and got a few more things:
thief deadly shadows (Been eyeing it forever and hey $2.50!)
dragon age ultimate edition (long on my wishlist, couldnt resist $7.50)
walking dead (finally went for the 40% off that kept coming and going)
alan wake bundle for $10

done for now with total of about $90 for 12 games. got my wishlist down to 10. gotta keep something for christmas sale!

had recently syndicate, mafia 2, saboteur, darkness 2, and necrovision for $50 from amazon. some got my gaming set for a while. $140 for a ton o' gaming vs 3 new games.

added a few more to the old backlog bin.
BttF
Sideway $3.00
Ys:  Oath in Felghana $5.09
DLC for Binding of Isaac and Frozen Synapse 2.75
QUBE 3.74
TW2 Velvet edition (there's a mod which apparently adds the expansion areas to the main game.  sounds like fun) $10
Walking Dead (would have waited for a better price but the reviews plus the new season made this too hard to pass up) $15

just a hair over $50 total (WA resident here)

I will probably stay out of the next few rounds though.  getting a bit expensive with this and the recent Amazon sale.

only have a few items on the wishlist that I am really feeling like picking up, so that's a good sign for my wallet
