Sometimes they had to be for the same system. Sometimes you could mix and match. B&M historically was wide open. Things might be different now that they've broken from Amazon. |

well, it's on. Since there's no TRU nearby I'm limited to online, but I have a bunch of games saved in the shopping cart ready to go if I do decide to get them (Guitar Hero, Kingdom Hearts 2 w/ Dirge of Cerebus for free).

I really wish I had the money to do this, but you guys enjoy +1. that's why they're in my shopping cart and not already bought. Payday is Friday so I'll decide then, but with Ultimate Alliance (and possibly Dark Messiah) coming out Wednesday plus the upcoming slew of games being released after the sale and my recent HDTV purchase I'm trying to rebuild my funds a bit. |

I picked up Disgaea 2 for the PS2, and Splinter Cell: Double Agent and NHL 2k6 for the X-Box 360. Then, in a seperate transaction, I got Metroid Prime: Hunters, New Super Mario Brothers, and Super Mario 64 for the Nintendo DS I purchased just a few weeks ago. What they did last year was give you a receipt showing you paid 1/3 of the total price for each game. So if you bought two $50 games and got a third free, you'd get a receipt showing $33.33 for each game. You could return one, but you'd only get that much credit. |

For what it's worth, I have my Toys 'R' Us receipts here right now. It shows Super Mario 64 and New Super Mario Brothers sold for regular price, and Metroid Prime: Hunters was free thanks to a $34.99 "video promotion." The same thing is true of my Splinter Cell / NHL / Disgaea receipt -- SC and NHL at regular price, and Disgaea 2 at $0.00. I don't know if that helps answer the question, but that's how they're ringing things up at two different stores in my area. -Autistic Angel |

They've been fairly well swept clean of a lot of the more popular titles. Might be too late, but I was at Toys R Us and the store clerk said I could return a game as long as it wasn't opened. You just need to make sure that the game you are returning is not the "free" game on the receipt. |
