Just pulled the trigger on 'Evil Genius' for 2 bucks and 'Civ IV' for $6.79. EG is a steal for that price. 'Civ IV' is one of the best strategy games of this decade, and figure I can install it soon and if I play for about 5-10 hours; that'll make up for its purchase. Didn't pick up the bundle because that's way too much gaming for me. I don't know if I will play entirely thru 'Civ IV' let alone the expansions and 'Colonization'. My new year's resolution is not to accumulate a gaming backlog. Will only purchase what I will surely play.

Wow, that is completely lame.  The Crysis "deal" isn't even a sale price, and M2:TW has been that price during the whole sale I think. LOL

Check again:

Crysis is 13.99
Street Fighter 9.99

I've been wanting Crysis now that I have a rig that can run it, but I really don't need to spend ANYMORE money.

Ah good, they fixed it.  I don't think they dropped M2:TW any further, not that it really matters at $5 but I was hoping for a deal on the whole M2 gold bundle.

they changed it from what it was.  I just cut and paste everything, deleted the info and left the prices.  I'll fix the post.

Yeah, none of those games look appetizing to me. This morning, when I was purchasing, I was worried some other stuff could go on sale right after. If 'Mass Effect' goes on sale, I might have to finally pick it up. Also, I'm looking for 'TF2' to hit the sub-10-buck prize.

Tempted on Shattered Horizon.  Zero G FPS sounds interesting.  Also tempted on the Darwinia thing entirely to get rid of my Darwinia DVD.

Also wish that they'd put Medieval 2 Gold on sale for $10 or something.

I just picked it up, for five dollars I figure if I get an hour of entertainment from it it's worthwhile.  From the reviews it seems like its biggest two criticisms is that it has high system requirements and because of that has a limited player base.

Point of interest it comes with three guest passes.

Well my 15 minute impressions are that Shattered Horizons is that it is very innovative and pretty but a bit limited on content.    There is no tutorial or single player so you are required to learn in normal games.  In most FPS this wouldn't be a problem but since you have the ability fly around freely and/or attach to surfaces there is a considerable learning curve.  So far my favorite thing to do has been to attach to the bottom of asteroids and snipe peoples jetpack fuel tanks.

For $5 I would say it's worth a look if you like FPS but unless they release some free content don't expect to be playing 6 months from now.

The Sam & Max complete package for $15 is a heck of a deal, if you're into adventure games.

I'm also a big fan of Trials 2 if you don't have a 360 to play Trials HD (or even if you do smile )

Not silly, there's just no such settings. Steam games install wherever you installed the Steam client in a SteamApps sub-directory.

I picked up 'Mass Effect' earlier... but Steam tells me 'there's a problem with my credit card'.. even though I used the exact same card to purchase two games yesterday. Steam told me to send an email to support about it. So, I don't 'have' 'Mass Effect' yet. Waiting to hear back from Steam support. Ugh.  icon_mad

Hard to say, unless someone has seen it spelled out somewhere. They say "though the 3rd" but their 24 hour daily sales all seem to end at noon Eastern time rather than midnight.  icon_confused

The last set of daily deals will launch today at noon EST.  My hunch is those deals and the entire sale will end at noon EST on Jan. 3.  I'm waiting for the final daily set, then I'll buy whatever else I want this afternoon.

I bought Torchlight back when it was $5 and it's fun, but very repetitive.  I bought Ghostbusters new for like 40 bucks, played it one time and gave it to a friend of mine.  I don't even think he's installed it.  Needless to say, I heard great things about it, only to be disappointed with it.
