it sounds like they'll be doing this all week.  luckily I already have all of the games from them I'd want to buy so I won't miss out on the oddly timed deals.

hoping they do the same as d2d and have gta4 for seven fiddy.  not having to deal with the d2d patches would be a benefit.

that and the episodes for cheap.

think I posted this elsewhere but GTA IV uses Games for Windows Live for patching so it doesn't matter who you grab it from, patching won't be automatic.  I have the Steam version and the last patch required I sign into GFWL and then let it download the patch.

They've got the original Manhunt on sale for $2.50 for the next hour or so (until 10pm Pacific Monday).

Does not work with Windows 7, though.

I hate it that Steam does this special sale after I just bought EFLC and Bully. With the money I paid for those, I can get the whole collection. frown

Still there are enough games in the collection that I want to get. How long does the sale for the whole collection last?

I got the latest patch from Steam, not from GfW Live. I don't remember about the previous patches, I probably got the game patched from Steam when I got it (I didn't get GTA IV until last holiday sale).

I think the collection is going to be on sale all week, it's the individual sales that are short.

that's odd, I definitely had an update come through GFWL and thought it was the latest update since it didn't make me choose which version of GTA IV I wanted to play (vanilla or episodes) until after that update.

What's wrong with Securom? That's one of the most common types of DRM for games out there, and is probably used in way more than 50% of the games most of us own.

May have been thinking of StarForce and nothing on Steam will still have that AFAIK.

I did end up getting Bully for $7.50 - I'm curious though, if someone were to be able to take advantage of all these quickies, how much better of a deal would it be over the bundle deal?

well so far, off the top of my head, these are the deals I've seen:

GTA Classics 7.50
Bully 7.50
GTA IV 7.50
Max Payne Bundle 3.47
Midnight Club 2 2.50
GTA Episodes 22.49
Manhunt 2.50

grand total: 53.46

so the bundle is still a savings.

I wonder why they don't.  they may not have those 2 on sale by themselves though, the only way you can get them is via a bundle deal.

Yeah, I'm not counting on it.

I missed the "Classics" sale.  I might have gone for that, but I'm hoping for $5 or under for just those two.
