War for Cybertron.

It is a most awesome game!  I bought it when it was released and the guy at Gamestop said I was the one that wanted it for pc  =)

I'm in for Greed Corp and Dead Space, I'm on the fence about The Ball and Amnesia.

I picked up The Ball over Thanksgiving.  It's first person, but you have to move the ball around to get anything done.  Once I got to the point of the first jumping puzzle, I quit and haven't gone back.  Don't know that I will.

What OS are you running?  it'll be interesting to see how those two work if you have Vista or Windows 7.

Any opinions on Swords and Soldiers?

Probably in for Greed and Archon. It'll have to pass the work day test. If I still recall they're for sale when I get home I'll buy'em.

ah, you should be OK then. I was tempted by those 2 but the reports of them working in Windows 7 vary a bit too much for me to bother.

I was wondering the same. I've noted from reading threads in the Steam forums that a lot of games that state (2000, WinXP Only) can be successfully run under Windows 7, but usually not Vista. From what I've heard, MS made changes to Win7 to improve backward compatibility. My son just upgraded to Win7 and really wants the whole BIA pack, but I'm only 100% about Hells Highway. Guess I'll need to dive into the forum and read some threads before 9:55 am tomorrow. slywink

[Edit] lol, looks like you beat me to it again Ceekay. smile If forum posts vary I'll probably just get Hells Highway for my son unless someone here can confirm it runs under Win7 with an ATI Radeon.

been doing some googling on it and I've seen reports that Hill 30 and Earned in Blood either work or do not work with Windows 7.  it's a PC game so naturally it's a YMMV situation.

Dunno if its because I bought so many games last year but this STEAM sale has been really disappointing IMO. Allot of frankly second tier games and allot of stuff I've seen on sale multiple times before. I spent over $100 last year but am sitting at only $7.50 spent so far.  icon_frown

I haven't bought much up until now (3 indie packs and a few <$2 games), but I'm definitely picking up Swords & Soldiers and Amnesia and I'll probably get The Ball and Archon Classic after playing the demos.

It's all relative to what you already own.

My haul so far:
Bad Co. 2
King Arthur pack
Blood Bowl
Overlord Pack
Flatout Pack
Claptrap DLC for Borderlands

I had to go on the cheap this year because my disposable income is mostly nonexistent right now.  I could have easily (and wanted to) spent more.

I don't think it's been too bad.  Part of the issue is that between last year's holiday sale, the summer sale, and weekend deals, I've already picked up pretty much everything I want on Steam.  They'll surprise me with some ridiculous deal every now and again, but with 79 games in my library, there's not a ton of stuff I'm really holding out for anymore.

+1

I'm at a point where I've purchased most of the games I'm interested in on Steam through the different sales.  I mean, how many times can they put their entire catalog on sale before everyone buys what they want.

But, the sales have given me a chance to pick up on same really cool indie games that I would have skipped otherwise.

hell, most of my 130 odd games are indie games or from the insane deals.  i haven't bought a single game at full price yet, although i have bought a few at a sale price higher than the big sale price.

and it's not like i haven't bought anything this round.  sitting around 25 as it is and there are still days left before it all ends.

241.

Of course, between all the junk that gets installed with Halflife 2 and buying the Telltale Complete pack last year (each episode counts as a game, so that's 32 right there), that accounts for a lot.  It also counts installed demos and mods.  But yeah, I have a problem.

I don't get the complaints about this sale. Almost every major game has gone on a daily sale at some point and, even if they haven't been, it seems like nearly every game on the service is discounted 10-25%.

Maybe it is just my perception, but it seems the past sales had better games at better prices overall.

I think we need a formal DSM-IV definition here. At what level does a 'client' qualify for what level pathology:

0 -    50   hobbyist
50 -   125 Normal hardcore gamer, casual abuser
125 - 200 Obsession (a little messed up; wife and kids notice, 'normal' friends think you are a bit whacked)
200 - 300 Addict (you hide sale info from family and game purchases in small bags around the crib)
300 - 400 full blown strung out (you avoid socializing with other, miss meals regularly, pass out in front of the 60" HD regularly); needs direct intervention

I'm eyeing the Paradox pack, and hoping the Popcap collection goes on sale at some point.

Which Transformers?  The movie ones or Cybertron?

War for Cybertron.

It is a most awesome game!  I bought it when it was released and the guy at Gamestop said I was the one that wanted it for pc  =)

And on for $19.99 today.

Finally, a day that I'm not making a purchase.
