If anyone else has been waiting for a sale on the Borderlands 2 season pass DLC, it is at GMG for $10.50 (15 with a 30 percent off coupon on the front page).

Wow. That's a fantastic price!

But yeah like EngineNo9 mentioned I've also noticed the Steam sale prices were not that great this year for both Black Friday and this Holiday Sale. In quite a few cases GMG and Amazon prices for Steam activated games were so much cheaper than what Steam offered those games on sale for. There's still some good deals to be had on Steam but for their next holiday sale they should try and price match.

And even though it was a bit of a pain I do kinda miss the daily game achievement challenges they had during the holidays. This holiday it seems like they're phoning it in.

There was a site that you could just buy the cd key and was legit.  It was in Europe, selling it for $30 US.  I wanted to download the client first and do some research on the company before buying it, and after I found out it was legit, they were out of stock, and has been out of stock since Christmas.  Pissed me off for waiting.  This will have to do.  This is my last game I'm buying for quite some time.

Well, I've never played it. But it has no story and just building stuff to build stuff doesn't really appeal to me.

Minecraft can also work great as an exploration and/or survival horror game.  I play and enjoy it that way far more than the giant Lego set way.

terraria is a bit of minecraft (harvest resources and build structures, equipment and consumables), metroid (find new items in the world, opening up new areas through travel, and upgrade y our abilities and skills) and castlevania (attack and kill new monsters and bosses, both pre-generated and conjured).  you can find different ecosystems in the world with their own resources, deserts, underground lava pools and jungles, floating islands and castles both above ground and below. 

there is no story but what you make it to be.  in that much it is just like minecraft.  you can play it pretty much like Pug describes minecraft, but you'll get more out of it if you spend some time building bases.  one element that base building pays off is the housing of npc's. 

if you do decide to pick it up, pm me and I'll get you started on the basics in game some time.  I still have a world with an established base and can show you around.

Well now I've done it. Gamestop is running a 30% bonus on trade-ins toward Steam wallets. I had a stack of console games that I have duplicates of in my Steam library and I now have $90 in Steam cash. As much as I hate supporting Gamestop's business model, since Goozex went downhill I lost my relatively painless method for turning console games into more games. At least I got a pretty good deal out of it.

bah, was hoping the system was just taking time adjusting but it's kind of annoying that one of the only 2 items not discounted at least 66% in the Total War packs is Vikings.

still haven't broken my rule about things needing to be on my wishlist and at least 66% off, but I may cave for Towns.  liked the demo enough.

ditto, I've actually bought very few games during any of the holiday sales.  nothing from Steam so far, only Scribblenauts Unlimited off of Amazon and only 4 titles off of GOG.  I did grab a couple off of Green Man Gaming, but used credit I had there so no actual cash was spent.
