I respectfully request that everyone vote for Witcher 2 for the community choice sale.  The other two choices are Batman:AC and Saints Row 3.  Voting ends in two hours

Gameplay wise the Kohan games have held up very well since no one has attempted the model again.  Graphically they might be a bit dated, but they all look better than Avernum.  If you have even a passing interest in strategy gaming, you should pick up the Kohan series.  I completed all three games.  That's pretty rare for me.

Just make sure you don't play Ahriman's gift first since it starts out at the end difficulty of Immortal Sovereigns.   Now go buy like a good consumer.

I loved the first one, can't remember if I got the second game or the actual sequel.  I was just worried the interface would feel too clunky nowadays.

Kohan II feels a lot like Warcraft III for the interface.  Take that as you will.

I voted for it, although I think even if it wins it will break the $9.99 threshold I tend to have for games in the sale. No problem, I still have the first one in my backlog smile

yeah, but maybe they'll have the DLC on sale too, which would be a silver lining for some.  I voted for Batman, but that was well before Kato made his request.

on another note, too bad you can't gift the games you already have in the Indie Bundles.

Warlock is actually pretty decent and certainly at that price. It's basically Master of Magic/Age of Wonders Lite.

Force Unleashed 2 seemed like a horrid port. Didn't run well and wasn't anywhere near as fun as I thought it might. Deleted it after an hour.

I'm not seeing an option to add things to my cart anymore.  It's like they disabled the cart.  I've tried restarting Steam but that doesn't help.  It was working fine earlier tonight.  I can still add things to the wishlist, but there's no button for add to cart.  Weird.

Edited: and my cart is back!  They must be getting hammered tonight.

So I have never made a purchase during a Summer Sale before, but I do remember talk about when is a good time to jump. So if I were interested in getting the Bethesda Collection (http://store.steampowered.com/sub/15263/) should I just do it now, or should I wait for some magical time in the near future where it will be even cheaper?

the best bet is wait until the last day to see if it might get a better deal, but a pack like that probably won't get any cheaper.

Yeah, some of the individual games in that pack may go on sale for cheaper so best to wait unless your gnawing at the bit. Really the only highlights of that pack are Skyrim and Fallout New Vegas. Doesn't even contain Fallout 3.

I'd wait for a Fallout NV or Skyrim deal to drop directly. Generally the DLC hits new lows as well so you get more for your gaming dollar.

Hey chaps,

Could someone in the US please tell me how much "Drakensang: The River of Time" and its expansion are, along with the price of say Legend of Grimrock so I can get an idea of what ratio of Steam dollars to pounds is in use?

Drakensang: The River of Time + exp are not available in UK and I may suggest a swap with a GT'er with stuff i _can_ buy :-)

Cheers,

Mack
