Was SWFU2 (today for $4.99) as crappy as the first? In particular I hated the way games were saved and the clunky camera positions.

I remember reading the reviews and I think they basically said that none of the problems from the first game had been addressed. Not sure about PC-specific issues though.

I have the 2nd game and uninstalled it after giving it an hour. Seems like a typical bad port where character animation is stiff and the world is too shiny. The gameplay wasn't grabbing me either.
BTW, the first game has a huge space footprint. You need 30GB of free space and I think the DL is close to that. So be aware if you plan on getting it.

i liked the first a lot more than the second. where the first had a lot of cool areas to fight and some pretty awesome jedi fights, the second just degraded into 3 giant levels, a few annoying sub bosses and a long dull boss fight with a ton of repetitive tasks. it also had a weak story and ending fight and a useless end game choice. the first is better in almost every way except for the fighting combos.

these deals are now gone, so looks like it was a goof up. I bet the sale starts the 20th or 21st.

I saw this and thought damn that's a good price and was ready to bite. After a bit of thought though, its a 40% discount unlike the 50 and 75% of all the other deals, and it'll probably be offered later in the month at 50% off.

This game goes on sale more often than a Kardashian. Something had to take the place of Trine and Torchlight now that everyone's bought them. I took advantage of the latest Magicka sale since it had additional DLC that wasn't in the November sale collection. In particluar this collection had the recently released 'The Stars are Left' which is a new Cuthulu-Horror themed campaign that can also be played co-op. I bought 1 collection in November for our orther computer so I just added TSaL for it at the sale price of $1.50. It's $6 now, so that seems like a good deal. [Edit] I'm very tempted to buy a another copy of Shogun 2 for our 2nd computer. I know it'll run like crap on it without settings at minimum, but for $10 ($15 for the DLC bundle) the temptation is too strong. Then again, like every TW game it'll probably be selling at that price regularly in a year or 2.

Dead Island as of today, has now been dropped to $10. You know sometimes Steam are just real asshats - I can't imagine the anger of those who bought it yesterday. I stand by my previous statement in other threads; customer service really isn't part of Valve's corporate conscience. [Edit] Nevermind, it appears to have been a temporary glitch. Damn it, I wish I'd been quicker on the [Add to Cart] button.

Steam/Valve makes me admittedly feel like a hypocrite - I can't stand some of their policies and standards, but then they do something like bring back Fable the Lost Chapters and offer it for $2.50 - to which I say its mine! I'm weak, yes I do admit it.

I don't understand this complaint. If you bought something yesterday and you thought the value was there at $25, why should someone (in essence) give you $15 bucks back because it went on sale today? Why should they do that? Why would the publishers ever allow them to do that?

It's the most wonderful time of the year With the Steam sales up So you can fill your PC gaming cup It's the most wonderful time of the year It's the hap-happiest season of all With those daily specials and combo packs When friends come to call It's the happiest season of all
There'll be LAN parties for hosting Newbies for roasting And Vent for those who want to blow There'll be scary ghost stories And tales of the glories of Raids long, long ago
It's the most wonderful time of the year There'll be much cheap gaming And forum flaming of those who were overpaying It's the most wonderful time of the year
It's the most wonderful time It's the most wonderful time It's the most wonderful time It's the most wonderful time of the year

That said, I've seen similar things happen in the past. I'm not saying Valve should refund customers the difference between a game that went on sale one day and then was deeply disconted the next. What I'm saying is that for such a thing to even occur shows poor regard for the customer on Valve's behalf.

OK, Steam is bugged: Portal 2 shows 75% off @ main page, only shows 50% off @ product page. Anyhow, Portal 2 is mine for $7.50. I weep for my wallet in the coming days.

What I'm saying is that for such a thing to even occur shows poor regard for the customer on Valve's behalf. I don't see it as being necessary, but it is certainly a very nice customer service thing and isn't unheard of. One of the best things about Best Buy (and there aren't many) is that they have a 30 day price drop guarantee, so if the price goes lower in the 30 days after you purchase something you can get the difference refunded. They also price match any locally advertised price for the same product. Amazon has a similar but opposite deal, where if you preorder an item you will always be guaranteed the lowest price available before it ships, regardless of the price on the day you placed your order. These sorts of policies are put in place so that customers feel more comfortable making their purchase with said company, and it works. Even if you don't take advantage of those things as a customer, it makes you feel better that they are available and you won't get totally ripped off by a new sale coming next week. MUST.RESIST.JUSTCAUSE2.
