The Dead Space pack dropped in price from about $16 to $13.50 if that makes a difference for anything. It looks like it's only applicable if you are in North America though.
Tempted by Space Pirates and Zombies, may have to take a bit more time on the demo to decide.

The haunted hotel area of Vampire still stands out as one of the few supernatural games that scared me silly. Methinks I should replay that this weekend in honor of the holiday. That and finish Amnesia.

Bastion is my game of the year and there have been a lot of great games this year. It just did everything right. The narrative was compelling, the graphics were wonderful, the gameplay was fun and the world was unique and imaginative. On top of all that it was also one of only a handful of games to ever pull off an emotionally charged storyline without coming across as corny or artificial.

I play games for the gameplay, not the ending, and the gameplay of Bastion didn't really do much for me. The narration was interesting and novel for a few minutes, but not enough to make we want to keep playing. |

Oh sure sure, if you don't like the gameplay at all then it's not worth trudging through, but if you at least think the gameplay is "ok" then the late game and ending turn it from a fair game to an outstanding game. You can also finish the whole experience in the time it takes to get out of the tutorial area in some games.  |
