I think I'll grab The Last Remnant, wish they had a better deal on Dirt 3 though.
It's a 12GB download... mine has been running for 3 hours now and it just hit the 50% mark. [sigh]

I was thinking about buying it, but after playing the demo, I just can't get into another RPG.

Sigh... I'm usually better at resisting these things, but I picked up Divinity 2 and Amnesia. If they have D2 for $10 or less later on I will be pissed.

How do the X games play? Are they Privateer-ish or more sim?
Also, they list the price on the front page as $4.99, but it really is $9.99

like privateer in the sense of freedom and how you develop your empire. more like a hardcore econ sim in how you fund it. the difficulty curve is high but the payoff is rewarding. imperfect and sometimes punishing to a fault but when you get it and look back on your humble beginnings from a simple fighter on the bridge of your carrier with a fleet of your own building, you will know what it is to be in control of the universe. you can get there in different ways too.
the terran conflict version of x3 is probably the easiest entry point outside of the original, which was more simple and straightforward. it has different starting loadouts and more campaign missions whereas x2 and x3 take the restrictions off pretty quickly.

Are you doing this because you don't think you will win the Wishlist prize? There is nothing I want enough to spend the tickets on so I am holding out for winning 10 games in the long-shot drawing.

I bought PAM a while back and it's not bad but a bit of a frustration. It could have been a fun combat racing game, but for whatever reason they basically made the racing part not matter. Even though they track laps completed and who is leading the race, the end result seems to be based solely on who got the most points from killing other racers. So if you're in the lead by a good distance you're actually at a disadvantage, and are better off slowing down to kill more guys. If they would just enable actual races I think it would be a fun budget game. I was really surprised their free DLC didn't add this.

Yeah, I was just waiting to see if there would be an awesome Alien Breed bundle before spending tickets on it. I'm also kind of hoping they have a last minute change on what's offered (partially to see the crying of those who spent their tickets).. (ok, mostly to see the crying)

I'm strongly tempted by Dead Space 2, but I remember that the first game had some serious (though fixable!) problems with V-Sync and laggy controls. Does anyone have experience on how the PC version handles with a wired 360 controller plugged in? -Autistic Angel

It was 75% off for a period of time and then dropped back to 50%. Managed to snag a copy before it went back up but had to wait awhile before the Steam servers weren't "too busy" to download the whopping 16MBs needed.

I almost made the same mistake. I played the first 10 or so levels when there was a Free Demo for either ATI or NVidia users - I forget which. I didn't see what all the excitement was about. It gets to be much better after you go further into it. The first levels (20 or so) are almost a tutorial.

Finished the sale by picking up the Elven Legacy complete pack. Final tally was: - The Last Remnant ($27) - Portal 2 ($25) - Terraria ($2.50) - Risen ($10) - Elven Legacy pack ($10) A little more expensive than previous sales, but still a lot of gaming goodness for $75.
