The OF games have always been less about polished gameplay and more about the open world/realistic gunplay. I enjoy them, but sort of grudgingly.

I probably would've passed had I realized that crap was still in place. I thought I had read that it was removed in a patch a while back. My mistake. Still, Triggercut's glowing posts about the game has made me want it for a while now. 20 bucks for the gold edition which includes darn near all the DLC's and some extra stuff makes it less painful, I guess.

it's a hard game to resist from the reviews. sounds like a bigger version of dawn of discovery, and despite being chained down with similar onerous drm for that game, i still enjoyed the hell out of it. beyond my basic concern for how well it will play on my aging pc, i almost look on it and know this will eventually populate one more place on my virtual backlog shelf, almost forgotten. as much as it looks and sounds like a great game hidden behind a bad drm system, i think the backlog will win my argument. i simply have too damn much to play right now. hells, i haven't even finished up dawn of discovery and never even booted up the expansion. |
