I believe that this game is going F2P this week. Does anyone know if there will be a sale on the base game?

I'm confused, if it's going free to play, why buy it?

As several readers point out in the comments, ESO won’t be 100% free-to-play: New players will still have to make a one-time purchase of the software up front. But if you’re already playing, you won’t have to spend another dime starting on March 17.

Check isthereanydeal.com and setup an alert.  That's what I did and I got ESO for 17 bucks about two weeks ago when gamesrocket.com had it on sale for 24 hours.

I hated ESO during beta, but picked it up after the F2P switch and have been absolutely engrossed in it the last few weeks.  It has really improved since launch, and is a ton of fun to play.  Granted, I'm doing it 99% solo, but it's been a blast through the first 37 levels.

I'd give it a big thumbs up, even though I initially really disliked it.

It's not much of a sale, but Greenman Gaming has it in their VIP section for $47.
