It might be, except that nobody else bought it, and the people that did buy it aren't playing it.

The demo was fun, but everything I hear from people that picked up the full games says that there's never more than a small handfull of people playing online.

No ones playing it online??? I tried the demo when it came out and I had no problem finding full games.  Wonder what happened..  Its still supposed to have a very good single player portion of the game and its averaging 81% on gamerankings.com so it still may be worth checking out.

Irrational Game's irrational belief that it's up to the community (aka the customers) to make a bot for the game is what kept me from buying it. It's based off of the Unreal Engine, they could have modified the existing bot AI and ported it over to the Tribes experience. That probably would have required the hiring of an AI programmer (a full-time one) and they had better things to do.
Since they didn't support the singleplayer community, why should we support them?
A singleplayer campaign, IMO, is not enough to make it a "true singleplayer" experience. Sooner than later you beat the campaign, then what? At least for replayablity in singleplayer games you need some type of AI to practice with offline.
Just that - practice. It doens't have to be amazingly intelligent that it takes years to code. Just something to test your skills with offline. Team Factor is a good example, the bots suck, but at least they're there to practice with.

I know I went off topic with this but what I'm getting at is that I agree, it's not a "steal" at $20. I woudn't even pay $10 for it. Now maybe if they paid me $20..  Tongue

Great, fun game.  Too bad no one played online.  It was hard finding a server after the first month.
