Ok, that was annoying.  I had to click 5 links just to get to their website so I could see what the games were.  For everyone else!

Click Me!

*edit* Oops…or you could click the 2nd link from the first page linked. *edit*

it doesn't look like Steam has all the titles on sale that Gamersgate does.

If anyone is interested in Civil War games, $4.99 for Take Command: 2nd Manassas is a great deal.

I may pick it up for that price.  Is it overly complex?

I'm also interested in Hearts of Iron 2, but I hear it may be too much to handle (I am interested in WWII, though).  Anyone have experience with HoI?

Absolutely not.  Think of a Civil War version of Combat Mission only it's real time.  (It plays quite slowly though and you can pause) so you don't have to worry about controlling all your different brigades.  PLus you assign the AI leaders to take over a lot of the decision making if you want.  The graphics could use a boost but overall its a great game and a steal for $5

Wow. There are a lot of versions of the same games. I have EU III complete, but now I wonder if there is a more complete version. Same with Hearts of Iron II Complete. I'd figure this all out now and buy something but I'm too lazy at the moment. Which means that I'll get back to this a few hours after the sale ends, slap my forehead, and realize that I've missed another good sale.

Can you add mods to Gamer's Gate games?

In my brief research, it seems HoI 2 Complete is the full package.

How's the complexity on this one?  Is it just overwhelming or is it manageable?

I have a better handle on WWII than some other eras (glad to hear the Civil War game is manageable), but I'm worried this'll be too much for me.  I don't see myself reading a massive PDF manual.

I was looking into this myself, but IGN's review has me saying 'too much depth' for my tastes:

Quote
Let it be said right at the start: this is a hard game with a sometimes-unfriendly level of depth. If you're expecting a remake of Axis and Allies you're going to be disappointed. In Hearts of Iron 2 you're responsible for absolutely everything short of leading the troops on the battlefield. Trading for resources, allocating production, keeping the home front happy, assigning research priorities, negotiating alliances with other nations, replacing cabinet members and a host of other responsibilities all fall on your desk and that's not even considering any of your numerous military tasks.

I too am interested in HOI2, or one of their wargames but that's way out of my league.  Too bad, this is a great sale... my backlog is thankful.

I love wargames but I've never been able to get into the HOI series-it just seems like too much for me.  I also find EU to be a little overwhelming.  If I could get EU complete for $5 then I would jump on it but for $15 it's a little too much.

Does anyone know if EU Rome: Gold is worth $10?
