There have been multiple clones of Hive on the app store, but there's an official app out now, which is currently free.
Grand Prix Story and Reiner Knizia's Fits are both a buck right now.

I wish Hive was Universal, but it's better than nothing. Check out Hanto, which I bought several years ago, before I had even heard of Hive. It is free these days and there is an HD version. |

Wars of the Roses is on sale today for 1.99. I've had my eye on this one for a while now. It is based on the boardgame Rosenkonig. It is a fairly simple territory game and does have an element of luck. You use cards to move the crown around the board, placing pieces of your color in the process, but your ability to move onto occupied spaces is limited, so you have to be careful. It is possible to force your opponent into a position where they can't move the crown or have to use up their knights (capture an existing piece) early. The goal is to make formations of as many pieces as possible. There's a solo campaign, a quick play function, and local/online mp.
Only played briefly, but I'm liking it so far. It is universal.

Android has NOVA 3 and Modern Combat 3 for 99 cents on Google Play as an end of summer special, so I'm assuming it's the same price on iOS.
Both games have awesome online multiplayer, hard to go wrong at a dollar per game! (NOVA 3 was over a 1GB download)
