Went looking for the 4.99 Silent Storm bargain and found this page

http://www.ebgames.com/ebx/groups/hotdeals/pcgames.asp

Max Payne & Mafia bundle @1.99
DX:IW                             @1.99
Commandos 3                  @2.99
H&D 2                              @9.99

The 4.99 Silent Storm was gone, so who knows how long these will last?

Have a big list of all the deals here for all platforms.

Many are going up in price now though and Silent Storm sold out. Glad I nabbed it last night!

But would keep an eye on them, the prices have been fluctuating a lot the past week and a half since it's been going on. And some have come in and out of stock.

It's back.  Baldur's Gate 2 is down to $3, Chris Sawyer's Locomotion is $1...Silent Storm's still gone though.

Ground shipping shows up pretty fast.   I always get my games in a couple days with the free ground shipping option.

EB has had some great deals lately. Gamestop bought EB about a month and a half ago. Word has it they will be closing EB and then Gamestop will be aquired by CompUSA for the mall retail locations. The stores will support console games and DVD videos. A sales guy at EB told me that the used games will be getting discontinued there and picked up by Gamestop. Then the change over to console support only will happen, EB's will close and then CompUSA will be coming in.

Boy, now that there's some pretty wild speculation.  You can pretty much chalk the sales that have been going on to over-buying what should have been hot items over the last six months, and finally wanting to clear out old stock.

I really do not know. I was in EB about several weeks back when the store manager was talking with a customer. He was trying to sway the customer into buying an EB Edge card but the customer would have nothing of it. I said its really a great card to have as it saves dough. The store manager then told me that EB has been sold to Gamestop and he said in some meetings he had to attend that Gamestop will be closing the EB's.

After the guy left I talked for a bit with the store guy and he said it appears that CompUSA is going to do what they did to Computer City. He said they are only interested in retail mall locations not the strip malls. He said they want compete direct with Circuit City which has many locations attached as part of retail malls.

Its rather moot anyways. As the HDTV's keep falling in price consoles will be the place to be and end up turning into PC's anyway.

I don't buy that. I don't see a buyout of Compusa in the works.

As for EB changing and getting rid of pc games and becoming more like Gamestop? Sure. Next year.

CompUSA- some of the worst management ever.  Pretty sad to see EB go, I have (almost) always had good experiences there.  I still have fond memories of getting my gold box Pool of Radiance there and reading the manual on the way home.

Just ask any store employee at EB, they have been aquired by Gamestop. Gamestop was a subsidiary of the Babbages and as I remember like Software Etc.

EB has been aquired by Gamestop, thats a done deal.

I was at a local CompUSA this past weekend and asked the business manager there and he had'nt heard anything other than "Yes, CompUSA is looking towards diversifying into malls for the convenience and retail exposure". But nothing at all about Gamestop/EB.

Yet weeks back at the EB the manager had told me they already underwent a orientation type session with Gamestop aquiring them and once its all completed basically Gamestop becomes the game place and EB stores in malls become CompUSA outlet stores.
