Went by Goodwill today to see if anything was new. Very glad I did. It looked like some pc game collector had dropped off a few games. These were old 3.5" disk games in mint boxes with all papers and manuals. The manager said they were $6.99 and I told her I thought that was kinda steep for old games which wont even run..just collector items. She asked another employee how long they'd had them and decided to sell them to me at $3.50 each.

They had..

Wing Commander
Star Control
Earthseige
Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe
Wing Commander 2 addon
Master of Orion
Cresent Hawk Trilogy

and some others. I really wanted SC and ES and such but could only afford two. They were still kinda pricey for stuff that wont play but better than eBay I guess. I picked up Wing Commander and Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe.

Amazing I found them in this high quality still! I was just talking about WC today..what a coincidence. It has every paper and book in it..great reading! Nostanlgia rules! Thanks Goodwill!

You'd be surprised what I can get to run on my XP machine.  I have yet to find a game that I can't get working.  If you want help, let me know. smile

Oh yeah..something I just now remembered. I own the original release of MOO 1 in the big box. My box is normal sized and is the type that opens at the end with a flap. But the one in the Goodwill store is even bigger than the normal box and is the type that completely slides out of the cover and then the whole lid lifts off of it.

I wonder why they are different and just what version that one is. Doh I shoulda opened it to see what was in it.

Holy crap is that one hell of a find. Yeah, I have to admit, I still have WC1 with all the goodies, but since it's on 5 1/4' disc, I can't exactly run it anymore. Although I thought I still had my (very) old drive sitting around somewhere... biggrin

Well Wing Commander installed flawlessly and plays fine. Gonna have to tweak my dosbox to slow it down though and stuff smile

I went back today and bought the rest of the good titles. My final tally was..

Wing Commander
Wing Commander Secret Missions 2
Earthseige
Secret Weapons of the Luftwaffe
Twilight 2000
Star Control
Powerhits Robotech(both cresent hawk games and original mechwarrior)
Master of Orion

All for $26. I dont remember Twilight 2000 but any old post apocolypse role playing game cant be passed up. smile

God that pic brings back memories!

Thanks, Daehawk.  Enjoy your new goodies!

Oh, and I remember the PnP RPG that the Twilight: 2000 PC game is based on.

Okay, I officially hate you now. biggrin

Nice find. Woe to the guy who got rid of all of that in the first place.

Daehawk;

Any plans on maybe selling SWoTL?

I've got the cd version (actually, also from goodwill) but I've always wanted to get the -box- of the original. And your box looks to be in very good condition.
