In.

Now I own all of the M&M games other than M&M 9.  Which was horrible, from what I recall.

I already have the M&M 6-pack, but I could never get it running in Windows XP/beyond.  Does GOG make them playable without having to jump through hoops on Win XP/Vista/7?

The 6-Pack worked fine for me in Vista. Didn't have to change any settings.

I love me a good dungeon crawler, but somehow I missed these games when they were released. So if you could only play one of them which one would it be?

I came in to ask this exact question.  Given that I have a fairly low tolerance for old-school graphics, which one has the best story/characters/atmosphere to keep me interested?

6 is my favorite, and it comes in a pack with the first 5 games.  M&M 7 and 8 are both similar to 6 and still fun, but they're not as good as 6.

I loved World of Xeen which I think was IV & V combined into one big world, but I think it may be too dated now.

EddieA's right.  I'm playing M&M 7 on my netbook right now.  Its gameplay has some improvements over 6 and it's definitely a fun game, but I still like 6 better.  Maybe 6 seemed more cohesive than 7 does, or maybe I'm biased because I bought 6 on release day back in 1998 and enjoyed it immensely (and am about to rebuy it for my son--curse you, GOG).

Yep 6 and 7 were some of the best dungeon crawlers of their time.  Both those games ate up major hours on my PC

and 8 had a really sweet tavern game called Arcomage.  That game alone is worth the price.  Its kind of a MTG card game wannabe, it played fast and was really quite a bit of fun.

I am sorely tempted to buy some of the M&M games, even though I think I've played most of them at one time or another. M&M 2 is one of my favorite games of all time. The only thing holding me back is that I hate having to boot up in Windows on my Macbook (don't have Parallels) each time I want to play a game. I really wish GoG could make these games Macbook compatible.
