I hate these "first XXXX customers" type sales.  These days, word of them gets around so fast that it'll be sold out in a matter of seconds.  Since I know there's very little chance of me getting something at the sale price, I just don't bother even looking.  Either offer something at a certain price, or don't.  These obvious attention-grab sales probably wind up frustrating more people than enjoy them.

Also, I'd have to own the game on Impulse.  Ugh.

At least from what I've seen, that doesn't seem to happen with the Gamestop PC sales.  I don't know if they don't really go by the "500 customers" limit or if the website isn't that popular, but it seems like if you're able to access the website when the sale begins or soon after, you shouldn't have a problem getting a copy.

I think Gamestop sets a price they are willing to take and then pick a number as a "HURRY ACT NOW!!!!" figure.
i remember they had a "first 100 customers" limit for Heroes VI I think and it lasted for hours with multiple people on here reporting they got it (including me).

Yes, but $2 is a lot when it comes to the psychology of justifying to myself the buying too many games.  I can look at $16.50 as "basically $15" whereas $18.70 seems too close to $20.  Of course, I usually end up thinking "Screw it, I'm getting it anyway", which is probably what will happen in this case

Take my word for it: Get the game! It's a solid, attractive, entertaining city builder.. and for that dirt cheap price, it's a steal!

I bought it and then promptly experienced the hell that is Ubisoft DRM when the key I'd entered before being allowed to install the game, was reported as being in use by someone else AFTER I successfully installed the game and tried to log in.  Thankfully, Gamestop was kind enough to quickly send me a new key and I was able to log in only about an hour after buying the damn thing.

I put in about 45 minutes and I have to say that I'm not terribly impressed.  According to a few folks though, it does get much better so I'll stick with it a while longer.

ditto, but I used trade in credit I had stored up from trading in Assassin's Creed Revelations so no actual cash left my wallet.  thought it was kinda poetic

ps.  I love the fact that you can use trade in credit for the PC downloads

yep, just have them put trade in credit on your Gamestop card and then when you checkout at Impulse/Gamestop website you'll have the option to enter your card number and its pin number for payment.

The ad I got is promoting a price of $30.  And the game is showing up as $60 on the website (since it's not Friday yet).

I think I see what happened:  Eddie saw 50% plus $29.99 and divided that instead of realizing that $29.99 is the actual sales price- I did the same thing thinking the game was already at 30 bucks regularly.  to be honest it's not much of a sale then-  Amazon has already had it at 17 bucks and I even got it for 10.  and yes, even at 10 I'm kinda regretting it after the first boss battle.

I was looking at their Facebook listing for the sale, which says it will be 75% off.  However, it also calls it a "bundle", so I'm guessing they have the wrong info blurb with the Syndicate picture.
