Spiderman 1, Spiderman 2, and Men in Black are also in that sale. $3.99 each. The store that I went to only had a couple left though. Circuit City is also having a similar sale, with some decent movies at $3.99. I got: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind Blue Crush Along Came Polly Cat in the Hat (full screen, though) Hulk American Pie 2 American Wedding all for $3.99 each.

you can get each all of the Matrix movies (including The Animatrix) for $3.99 each at BestBuy...great deal if you enjoy them at all and haven't picked up the trilogy yet.

All I want... is goddamn Battlestar Galactica Season 1 for $30 or so. I don't want to pay more than that for it. It's resistant to dropping price/being in stock at Gamestop.

And it's now cheaper to just buy the damn movie than rent it.

I picked up Zathura for $6.99.
There were literally only 5 DVDs left in the $3.99 bin. 2 copies of Spider-Man and 3 for 8 Mile.

I still say Hulk for $3.99 is $3.99 more than it's worth.

I still say Hulk for $3.99 is $3.99 more than it's worth. Oh no doubt. I saw that and wondered to myself. "Is it worth buying just so I can burn it to release the suckage?"

I still say Hulk for $3.99 is $3.99 more than it's worth. Oh, snap. My son got a Hulk easy reading book a few days ago and really liked it. He's into Super Heroes so as a treat we had "men's night at home" the other night and rented Hulk. The damn Hulk doesn't show up until about an hour into the movie, by which time my poor son was delirious with boredom. We bailed on the thing, and he hasn't mentioned wanting to see the back half. Still, I figured that the back half of the movie had to be better than the front half, so when I saw it for $3.99 I figured I'd pick it up so we could watch the back half some time when we were really really really bored. It doesn't get better, though? Bummer. Is the back half just as horrible? You know, whoever ran that movie through test runs should be shot. It's not that hard to get this right. When you make a movie about the Hulk, you'd think you'd figure a way to get the Hulk into the movie before it's half over. You know, if it's really that bad there still might be use for it. I could probably get my son to clean his room by threatening to make him watch the ending. "Clean your room or we'll watch the Hulk!"

I still say Hulk for $3.99 is $3.99 more than it's worth. I disagree. The Hulk was a fantastic remake. It at least included the conflicts in banners life. Bana can't act, but we don't shit on Berry's head for her pathetic "storm". Oh wait, we do! In all seriousness, I enjoyed the Hulk way more than I did X3 or Punisher. I imagine I'll still prefer it more than Ghost Rider.

It doesn't get better, though? Bummer. Is the back half just as horrible? There's a scene where the military is trying to take out the Hulk and he goes apeshit on 'em. Leaps at helicopters. Rips the turret off a tank. That scene rocks. The rest of the movie? Not so much.

I do agree with Purge that I appreciate the movie's effort to set the character's background, but I think they could have done it in about 15 minutes instead of an hour. My son's Easy Reader set the background very nicely in about 40 words and eight pictures.

I'm not a big Ang Lee fan; but since I knew he was directing I had set my expectations at just the right level to enjoy the movie. I loved the smashing etc, but I also LOVED the visual presentations (remembering the scene where banner was in the lab with the generals daughter and the bootlick). I was able to forgive the slow start... I mean, Ang needed to build the plausability, right?

For the week of 08/06 - 08/12 there's more $3.99 DVDsa 3 for $25/6 for $40 and a nice Buy 1 Get 1 Free on some 2-disc Special Editions. ...sales like these make it awfully hard to cut back on my DVD spending!

Judging from those lists I can point out only two movies I could justify adding to my collection: Leon the Uncut edition, and All the President's Men CE. Whenever I see Armageddon on sale I keep thinking about the Criterion version that I keep meaning to buy someday.

Leon the Uncut edition - purchased Somehow I ended up with the Rambo Ultimate collector's edition in my basket as well. Damned impulse buys...

Is it a bad movie? I haven't watched it yet, but it had three women with bikinis on the cover, and it had "Two Thumbs Up" plastered on it somewhere. It's a surfing movie, no?

All that it's missing is "UNRATED VERSION" plastered on the cover, but otherwise I think I've got a winner here. You're all just jealous because I got a copy for $4 and you all missed it. Joking aside, I might have to watch this one this weekend. I'm a big fan of bad movies. Come to think of it, the last movie I watched with three seductively attired women on the cover was Charlie's Angels II. And that is hands down the worst movie I've ever seen, even worse that Plan Nine from Outer Space.
