i've started to pre-order 360 games from BestBuy now that they actually hold your copy and have been giving 10,000 Reward Zone points with pre-orders. by the time you get 10k points and spend $50+ on the game, you've gotten enough from the single purchase that you actually save $5 on the game...not a bad deal

I took one of the coupons from the web site in a few weeks ago that got you Act of War for the PC for $9.99. It was a royal pain. I went through the checkout line and the cashier was clueless. She called the cashier supervisor over who told me they dont take coupons from other web sites. I explained to her that it was from Best Buy's web site. She told me it wasn't and that she wouldnt let me use it. She did everything but flat out call me a liar and she was rude as hell. I got pissed and walked out.
I got about three steps outside the door and got more pissed and went back in. I went to the customer service department and they didnt believe me either. I had to take the guy from behind the desk to one of their computers with internet connectivity and prove it was a coupon from their site. His response was "huh, I didnt know we did that". On the way out the door, I had to stop and tell the cashier supervisor she was wrong and thanks for wasting my time. She didnt reply. I hate best buy. Im not sure its worth the $5.00 to use the damn coupons. Nice find though for people who have decent employees in their store.

I'm not a big fan of Best Buy either. They pretty much screwed me on a warranty issue that I went through, saying one thing and then doing another. Its not unlike dealing with a car dealership. Just figured there is somebody out there that likes em.

Never, ever, ever, ever get the warranty on anything you buy at BB. If you want a warranty, go somewhere else. Their "repair center" is a scam: it has the highest incidences of theft of any site in the company, but since the warranty is really an insurance policy underwritten by another company, it doesn't hurt their bottom line so they don't really care.
That's how it was way back in the day when I worked there (early 90s), and I haven't heard anything to change my opinion since then.

I got a warranty at BB on my PS2, had it for 8 or 9 months, and the controller port went south. Took in the PS2, and they gave me a brand new one, right off the shelf. I had the same thing happen with a Gameboy SP. Brand new one, right there, no hassle. Not bad for a 20$ one time charge. My son also had them fix his ipod with his warranty with no issues. I also got one on a CD player (it was 10 bucks on a 60 dollar item) and it broke after a year and half. They didn't have the exact model, so they gave me 60 in store credit. Can't beat that.
I prefer to only get the warranty on things I know they will replace in-store, not send out, but for me, they have been 100% reliable.

Yeah, thats true. I didn't think of that. Pretty nice with the store credit thing.
