(I shamelessly stole this from Octopus Overlords' Bargain Bin forum.)

It's the bottom end Toshiba HD-DVD player, and it won't do 1080p, but WOW. I just broke the bank buying my 360, and hate Wally World with a passion, but I am considering it.

Toshiba HD-A2 for $98!!!!

I apologize for reposting this, but I don't see it anywhere in the Steals forum. Was it deleted, posted somewhere else, or am I just being blind?

EDIT: I see in Off Topic thread. Well, I don't visit there that often, so sorry. I still think such an awesome deal deserves a thread here! smile

Figures, I just bought the same one last month for $250.00, but it did come with 300 and the Bourne Identity. Damn Wal-mart.

Does anyone know if this deal gives you the 5 free hd-dvds?  I bought one this morning, but didn't see a sign or mail-in card.

How is the image quality, for anyone who owns it already?

I think you have to download the PDF online.

different 5 free HDDVD offers
Sears has a different list of movies available (TMNT and Syriana replace Swordfish and Troy) and it uses a different PO box. Anyone know if this is valid for anyone to use?

http://download.sears.com/misc/5Free_end022808.pdf

compared to:

http://www.tacp.toshiba.com/hddvd/da...Rebate_R08.pdf

The consensus is either one will work. BestBuy Business ran out of A2s and is upgrading all orders to A3s for the same $99 price, so i'm waiting on that smile
