New deal I just saw on CAG.  3 free movies from amazon, including the 5 from Toshiba's mail-in-rebate.  Could be 9 free movies if King Kong is in the box. 

EDIT:  According to the amazon.com listing, King Kong is included.  That's 9 free movies.

You can also purchase a 'standard' HD-DVD and get the same deal (sans King Kong and for a lot more money).

Wow, I might do it... even though I don't need the player. The player and hd-dvds are selling for a lot on ebay, so you can probably do this, keep 4 movies, and get your money back with the rest.

I have zero intrerest in HD-DVD. I am thoroughly convinced it will either die or be irrelevant as all studios go blu-ray or neutral in late 2008. However, for the next year, the only place to get hi-def Star Trek is HD-DVD. That is a Big Deal to me. Don't know what to do.

For a while you used to be able to get King Kong with your 360 HD-DVD player free. If you happen to get that package from Amazon (no clue if you will at all anymore), then you get 9.

When I looked though, it was 7 free discs - 2 with your HD-DVD purchase, and 5 with mail-in.

I haven't looked again, but when I posted this, it was 5 from Toshiba's MIR, 3 from amazon's deal and 1 King Kong in the box.
